Savagely Fun & Festive 4th of July Drink Ideas

We've searched the internet for you to gather a few drink & shot recipes that will be perfect for any Independence Day celebration. 

Perfect, of course, once you add a Savage Scorpion to the ingredients list! We'll begin with a scrumptiously patriotic recipe that can easily be turned into a scorpion shot, followed by some delicious drink recipes your guests won't be able to resist! 


4th of July Shooters

  • 1/2 ounce of grenadine
  • 1/2 ounce peach schnapps
  • 1/2 ounce blue curacao
1) Pour grenadine into a shot glass. Carefully* layer the peach schnapps onto the grenadine layer, then carefully* layer the blue curacao onto the schnapps layer.  

*To ensure that the layers remain separate, hold a spoon above the grenadine layer and pour the peach schnapps over the back of the spoon. Repeat method for the blue curacao layer. 


The Firecracker
Watermelon, Lime, & Cucumber Cocktails
  • 4 oz cucumber vodka (If you don't have cucumber vodka, use plain vodka and simply add a couple of slices of cucumber before muddling.)
  • 4 (1-inch) cubes of seedless watermelon
  • 2 limes, diced
  • 2 oz simple syrup (Boil 1/4-cup water and sugar just until sugar dissolves
1) Combine vodka, watermelon, and lime in a cocktail shaker. Muddle all ingredients well. Add simple syrup, fill with ice, and shake until ice cold. 

2) Rim the glasses with a cut lime and dip in a mixture of salt, sugar, and freshly grated lime. 

3) Fill the glasses with ice and strain the ingredients from the shaker into the glasses.

4) Garnish with a watermelon slice, a cucumber slice, and a mint sprig.

Blueberry Lemonade Margaritas

For the syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • zest of 1 lime
For the margarita
  • 2 tbsp. kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 8 oz. tequila
  • 4 oz. triple sec
  • 3 oz. lemonade
  • ice
1) In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water and stir until sugar has dissolved. Add blueberries and lime zest and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer mixture until blueberries have burst, about 5 minutes. 

2) Remove from heat and let cool 10 minutes, then strain mixture into a clean jar. Let cool completely.

3) On a small plate, stir together sugar and salt. Rim each glass with a lime wedge, then dip in sugar/salt mixture. Divide tequila, triple sec, and lemonade between 4 glasses. Fill each glass with ice, then top with blueberry syrup. Garnish with a lemon wedge and serve.

White Wine-Berry Sangria
  • 1 bottle dry white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda
  • 1/2 cup raspberry vodka
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • chopped strawberries
  • raspberries
  • blueberries
In a pitcher, combine wine, soda, vodka, and brandy. Put a few raspberries and a small handful of chopped strawberries into the bottom of each glass and muddle. Fill glass with ice, then top with sangria and a few blueberries. Stir.
