Next week on Thursday, October 4, 2018, it is National Vodka Day. This popular liquor has had it's very own day since at least 2009, and today we're dedicating our Savage Scorpions ' blog topic to it in honor of the holiday. Get ready to learn all about vodka and how it can be even better when our unique cocktail garnish  is paired with it!  What is Vodka Vodka is a distilled beverage made primarily of water and ethanol. Sometimes it will have traces of impurities or flavorings. Its name is a diminutive form of the Slavic word "voda" which means water, and adding the "k" causes the word to translate to "little water."    Traditionally this liquor is created through the distillation of cereal grains or potatoes that have been fermented. Regardless of which of those two people you are, the delicious fall cocktail ideas that Savage Scorpions has found for you today are sure to put you all in the mood for fall.  These drinks bring you the flavors of apples, cranberries, cinnamon, and of course, we couldn't leave out pumpkin! Add our creative cocktail garnish to these recipes and make your new season absolutely savage!  Long Island Apple Iced Tea from JenniferMeyering.com 1 oz. triple sec 1 oz. light rum 1 oz. gin 1 oz. apple vodka 4 oz. apple cider 2 oz. lemon-lime soda 1) Add triple sec, white rum, gin, vodka, and apple cider to shaker. Shake for 20-30 seconds to combine. 2) Strain equally into 2 glasses filled with ice. Top each with 1 oz. lemon-lime soda. 3) Garnish with apple slices, if desired, and a straw. Enjoy responsibly!
