Scorpions Turned Into Pets

Image
Scorpions aren’t just popular in the wild or in shots or cocktails. Scorpions are also very popular pet options around the world. While there are hundreds and hundreds of types of scorpions, Savage Scorpions took a look at a few of the more popular scorpions that are kept as pets. Thanks to animal-world.com these are some of the scorpions that we found.

Desert Hairy Scorpion – The Largest Scorpion Species in the United States Family: Caraboctonidae
These scorpions are popular arachnids that are kept at pets due to their size and beauty. There are approximately eight Hadrurus species but there are three Giant Hairy Scorpions that are most familiar. These scorpions are notable because they are the largest species of scorpions in the United States, reaching up to about 6 inches in length.

Where Do We Get Our Scorpions?

Image
Savage Scorpions get their scorpions from China and Thailand. Scorpions in other countries are often times enjoyed by both locals and tourists alike. While we use Scorpions more in shots and craft cocktails, in China and Thailand, they are commonly eaten and are a staple in some diets. Tourists that are brave enough to eat them find out that they aren’t so bad after all. If you thought taking a scorpion shot was savage, they eat their scorpions on a stick, similar to a kabob.
ThailandMany people eat scorpions off a kabob-like stick. When tourists, or anyone for that matter, eats scorpions from a street vendor, it’s important to make sure whatever vendor you buy from has removed the stinger from the tail. Scorpions are often times deep fried and they have a bitter aftertaste that quickly follows. Some people say they are delicious and can resemble potato chips because they are crunchy and taste salty. ChinaScorpions are known as a delicacy in China. Scorpions can be cooked in many diffe…

Image
The “worm” vs. the scorpion. Quite frankly, we’re a fan of the scorpion, but we might be a little biased. Both are big trends right now when it comes to unique and one of a kind drinks and shots. In this week’s blog, we wanted to dig a little deeper and find out more about the “worm”. If you’re looking to spice up your drink, Savage Scorpions is the way to go. They can turn an ordinary drink or shot into something extraordinary.

If you do see a worm a bottle, it’s a product called mezcal. Mezcal is often times confused for tequila. Both tequila and mezcal are made by distilling the agave plant. Mezcal can be made from a blend of over one of 250 types of the cactus-like succulents. But in order to be classified as tequila, it must be at least 51% blue agave. Better yet, the higher the percentage of blue agave, the finer the bottle of tequil…
