Savage Iced Tea Ideas of the "Long Island" Variety
June holds the title of National Iced Tea Month. A freshly brewed, tall glass of that sounds delicious and refreshing to all of us at Savage Scorpions, but there's another version that we think sounds even better. A tastier version that shares a similar name but has a much better kick. We're talking about Long Island Iced Teas!
To "one up" that idea even more, make that drink savage by dropping in one of our fantastically creative cocktail garnishes. Now that sounds like the perfect drink to serve everyone at your next spring or summertime gathering.
You are probably already familiar with the classic version of this drink, but there are a lot of tasty recipes out there and each offers a slightly different take on the original. If you're looking for creative cocktail ideas for summer parties, then these recipes may be exactly what you need.
Classic Long Island Iced Tea
In reality, a Long Island Iced Tea doesn't actually contain any iced tea at all. It does, however, look like a tall glass of iced tea and taste every bit as refreshing. But be careful, because even though this cocktail goes down smoothly when mixed properly, it can sneak up on you quickly!
Here are the ingredients you will need to make a classic Long Island Iced Tea.
Remember, of course, that the best way to make the liquid refreshments that you'll be serving to guests unique, creative, and fun is to drop one of our awesome Savage Scorpions into each cocktail! That's a drink variation that we'd be happy to serve and even more excited to drink! Believe us, everyone is going to love it and you'll get to find out which of your friends are savage! #HowSavageAreYou

Delicious Variations
Just by switching out an ingredient or two, your Long Island Iced Tea gets a whole new name and a slightly different flavor. The following variations are fairly well-known by most experienced bartenders, but you could get creative and come up with a new recipe using your own favorite drink ingredients too. (Like adding a Savage Scorpion to the mix for a Savage Iced Tea, for example!)
Long Beach Iced Tea
Use the LIT recipe above, but substitute a splash of cranberry juice in place of the cola.
Hawaiian Iced Tea
In this case, the original LIT recipe is used but pineapple juice takes the place of the cola.
Miami Iced Tea
This LIT is a little fruitier than the rest. You will make 3 substitutions to the recipe above, using peach schnapps instead of tequila, cranberry juice in place of the sour mix, and lemon-lime soda in place of the cola.
Texas Iced Tea
This is for the bourbon lovers out there. You don't substitute anything in the LIT recipe, but rather make it exactly the same with the addition of a half-ounce of bourbon.
