As for the drinks, tequila is usually the star of the show on this holiday. Here are a few tequila drink recipes that everyone will love. For the beer drinkers, we've also added some Mexcian beer suggestions at the end of the blog too.

PALOMA
The Paloma is a popular cocktail all over Mexico that is most commonly created by mixing tequila with a grapefruit-flavored soda such as Fresca, Squirt, or Jarritos then serving it over ice with a lime wedge. The following recipe replaces the grapefruit soda with grapefruit juice and club soda.

  • 1/4 cup club soda
Pour some kosher salt on a plate. Rub half of rim of a highball glass with grapefruit wedge; dip rim of glass in salt. Combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar in a glass; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in mescal, add ice, and top off with club soda. Garnish with grapefruit wedge.

TEQUILA SUNRISE
This delicious drink uses orange juice to pair with the tequila plus a bit of grenadine syrup to give it a "sunrise" effect. When you carefully add the grenadine down the inside of the glass wall, this should result in the colors of the drink layering, much like the sky at sunrise.

This creative variation on the recipe takes it a step further and adds champagne.
