5 Tips for Creating the Ultimate Drink Menu

There is a lot of competition out there for bar and restaurant owners. Building a creative and unique drink menu is a great way to set yourself apart from all the rest. Savage Scorpions has a few helpful tips that will take a regular ol' drink menu to one that people take notice of. It's an excellent way to get folks talking about you, bring in more customers, and ultimately increase the revenue in your bar.  


Recognize Your Clientele
It's always important to create a menu that your customers will respond to. Do some research to find out what types of people frequent the area where your establishment is located. Also, watch for the busiest times of day and what types of drinks they order most often. All of these things will point you in the direction your drink menu should take. Include already popular items plus a few new flavors that are similar to what people already enjoy. 

Offer Options
You want to have a good variety of choices to please every type of drinker while not offering so many options that customers are overwhelmed. Include at least a couple of different recipes for each of the main liquors people order in cocktails, and it's good to have a well option, some mid-level calls, and at least one premium liquor in the mix. You can always keep the most popular items on the menu regularly but occasionally switch out a few of the others with new ideas to see if any new favorites emerge. 


Describe Drinks Creatively
People like to know what their drinks are made out of, so give a basic list of ingredients. You can go one step further and come up with humorous descriptions that make trying them more irresistible. If you can come up with a clever signature name for both cocktails and shots, it makes them even more enticing and fun to order. An added bonus of a cool drink name is that people are a lot more likely to remember it and tell all their friends about it.  

Help People Decide
Bring attention to the drinks on your menu by categorizing them in some way. Possilby list them by type of alcohol or maybe by lunchtime/happy hour/ late night drinks. You could have a space in your menu for a weekly special that brings either your most popular items to the forefront or features recipes you'd like more people to try out. For bars that also serve food, suggest pairings of specific foods and drinks. Often, people are happy to let you make the choice for them. 

Make Your Drinks Savage
Last, but certainly not least, add Savage Scorpions to your drink menu!
