Tequila Cocktails for Cinco de Mayo
This Saturday is Cinco de Mayo, or as some like to call it, Cinco de Drinko! We’re not sure about you, but we will be celebrating with traditional food and tequila, lots of tequila. If you are planning on celebrating this weekend and need some delicious tequila recipes, Savage Scorpions has a few for you! We have put together a few of our favorite tequila recipes from Delish.com for your enjoyment. Don’t forget to include your Savage Scorpions. Whether you use them in one of these delicious drink recipes or you use them in simple tequila shots, they are sure to bring the fun.
Sour Apple Margaritas
Once you taste this margarita, it just might become your new party drink.
Ingredients:
¼ cup of sugar
1 slice of lime
2 cups of Sprite (or other lemon-lime soda)
¾ cup of tequila
¾ cup sour apple liqueur
½ cup lime juice
¼ cup triple sec
Thinly sliced apple for garnish
Directions:
Place the sugar on a small shallow plate. Rim the edges of your glasses with a slice of lime and then dip them into the sugar to coat the rims. Fills glasses with ice.
Combine the remaining ingredients besides the garnish in a large pitcher. Stir to combine. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with a slice of apple.
Pink Senoritas
This is the sassy sister of the all popular margarita.
Ingredients:
Lemon wedge for rimming glasses
Coarse salt for rimming glasses
2 cups of ice
2 cups of pink lemonade
¼ cup of fresh lemon juice
¼ cup triple sec
1 cup of tequila
4 lemon slices for garnish
Directions:
Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of each glass and then dip the glasses into the salt.
Add ice, the pink lemonade, lemon juice, triple sec, and tequila to each glass. Stir to combine.
Tequila Sunrise Mimosas
The perfect combination to help you rise and shine.
Ingredients:
Orange wedges (or lime) for the rim and to garnish
Sugar for rimming glass
2 ounces of tequila
1 bottle of champagne
½ cup of orange juice
Few splashes of grenadine
Directions:
Rim glasses with an orange wedge and dip into sugar. In each flute (or whatever glass you use), pour 1 ounce of tequila and top halfway with champagne. Top off with orange juice and a splash of grenadine. Garnish with an orange wedge or lime and serve.
Watermelon Margarita
Because what says summer more than watermelon and a margarita?
Ingredients:
1 ½ ounce Don Julio Blanco Tequila
½ ounce lime juice
¼ ounce agave syrup
1 slice of watermelon
Directions:
Muddle the watermelon and agave syrup. Then add the rest of the ingredients and shake well. Double strain the mixture into a frozen martini glass. Garnish with a watermelon slice.
